Halftime

Here it is the day after the Super Bowl, and for some people you might as well say that it is the day after Christmas. Or the day after insert major life event.

For us, it was relatively quiet. We had plans to watch it at my sister-in-law's house with extended family, but the flu decided to make it's untimely appearance. Actually, the flu should never make it's appearance. But it doesn't work that way. :-( Hubby woke up sick and pretty much stayed in bed or on the couch all day. Even though he wasn't feeling well at all, nothing can keep him from watching the Super Bowl. Me? I watch it for the commercials. And sometimes the halftime show, depending on who the performer is.

Here are a few of our favorite commercials:

and

and especially this:

This last commercial featuring Clint Eastwood for Chrysler, I feel, spoke honestly of the sentiment being felt in the United States. Especially here in the midwest. I had read on the internet today that some "talking heads" in the Republican Party felt that this commercial was Pro-Obama. I do not like to discuss politics especially on this blog, but I felt that that was a reach. When viewing this commercial, I did not think in terms of Democrat or Republican. I thought in terms of what it was like to be an American. And even though she has blemishes and a few bumps and bruises and maybe even a wrinkle here and there, America is beautiful. And I'm proud to be one. And this commercial reminded me of why I am proud. :-)

Okay, stepping off my soap box. Back to reality. Back to nursing hubby back to health and sanitizing my house. :-P

Hope that everyone has something that they can be proud of.

Thanks for looking in!

I agree with you, I found no political meaning to it at all.
