Another milestone in the life of a teenage boy. After seeing the peach fuzz on his face grow in longer and thicker it was decided that he needed a shave. Hubby was hesitant at first saying that once he starts, he can never stop. (Hey, I would be giving that lecture to our daughter, if we were blessed with one, about dyeing her hair). So of course I had to get out my camera and record this monumental event. ;-) Then I proceeded to scrapbook it. Here is the result:
Some of us *ahem* may remember the Burma Shave ads. I wanted to mimic the font in the title and found this font on the internet.
The very next day, if you can believe it, this cartoon was in our Sunday paper. I love this cartoonist and was glad that our paper decided to continue running it after she retired. I thought it would be perfect for this page.
And not wanting to be wasteful, I had a picture that I wound up not using and made a pocket in the back of the page with some of the paper leftover from my project. I've been doing this lately with my pages.
Thanks for looking in and sharing this milestone with us. :-)
I love For Better or Worse! What a great layout, so awesome he let you take pictures of the event! I wonder if my girls will let me snap photos of them shaving their legs for the first time? ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I would love to see the layout for that. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat layout! I love how you included the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteI love that you found a for better or worse to go with this! I am probably months or less away from my middle schooler reaching this same milestone! They grow up so fast! Love the layout BTW!
ReplyDeleteLove that you added the comic!!
ReplyDeletegreat layout!! So nice you scrapped this 'happening'!!
ReplyDeleteThat is great. My baby just got her driver's permit. I don't know how this happened.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous topic to scrap, Pam! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove this post, it brought a smile to my face. What a great son to attempt his first shave while mom captures it all on camera!
ReplyDeleteAwww what a sweet layout, love the comic strip that you added , perfect.
ReplyDeleteWe only have girls, so hubby didn't teach them to shave, lol
Mind you he hates when they use his razor, lol.
What a fun and fabulous page! Such an awesome idea to include that comic strip!
