First Shave

Another milestone in the life of a teenage boy.  After seeing the peach fuzz on his face grow in longer and thicker it was decided that he needed a shave.  Hubby was hesitant at first saying that once he starts, he can never stop.  (Hey, I would be giving that lecture to our daughter, if we were blessed with one, about dyeing her hair).  So of course I had to get out my camera and record this monumental event. ;-)  Then I proceeded to scrapbook it.  Here is the result:

Some of us *ahem* may remember the Burma Shave ads.  I wanted to mimic the font in the title and found this font on the internet.

The very next day, if you can believe it, this cartoon was in our Sunday paper.  I love this cartoonist and was glad that our paper decided to continue running it after she retired.  I thought it would be perfect for this page.

And not wanting to be wasteful, I had a picture that I wound up not using and made a pocket in the back of the page with some of the paper leftover from my project.  I've been doing this lately with my pages.

Thanks for looking in and sharing this milestone with us. :-)

Sunday Inspiration

There come a holy
and transparent time
when every touch
of beauty
opens the heart
to tears.
This is the time
the Beloved of heaven
is brought tenderly on earth.
This is the time
of the opening
of the Rose.

Sunday Inspiration

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a  waste of time.
